Making a Grand Entrance

Nothing should be more inviting than a hotel lobby, and we’re keeping this in mind as we renovate our own here at The New York Palace. Our lobby serves as our first impression to hotel visitors, and as part of our upgrades, we’re looking to enhance the guest experience with a modern touch.

Below are photographs of our current lobby.

One of our designers, Winston Kong of CHAMPALIMAUD, a full service interior design and interior planning firm specializing in distinctive hospitality design in New York, provides an insider sneak peek on what to expect from our renovated hotel lobby, soon to come.

Kong, Principal at CHAMPALIMAUD, says, “In hotel lobbies, people tend to plop down and take over the space with books and laptops and we wanted to control that area through our renovations because that is not the first thing you want to see as a guest.”

Kong continues, “We got rid of the frilly molding in the lobby and wanted to give it a new and updated feel. We’ve added gold fabric wall coverings for behind the entrances that will give guests a sense of arrival.”

Below, please find renderings of our future lobby.
