Celebrity jeweler Martin Katz, hosted a one-of-a-kind New York Fashion Week event on February 11, 2014 at The Palace. The party, which celebrated the unveiling of Katz’s “New York City Collection,” mirrored the sophistication and taste of the collection with its setting: the elegant Jewel Suite in the hotel’s exclusive Towers.
Stars and socialites attended the soiree in the three-story suite, including fashion world luminaries Wendi Murdoch, Deborra-Lee Furness, Edward Barsamian, Caroline Rhea and others. Katz’s collection pays tribute to the elegance of New York City’s architecture, colors and views, in which he became immersed while designing the Jewel Suite at The Palace. Classic and contemporary complement one another to reveal stunning details and evoke signature New York City sights like the Empire State Building and The Rink at Rockefeller Center, the distinct colors of different seasons in the city, and the geometric shapes of Manhattan.
The suite itself served as the perfect location for an elegant New York Fashion Week occasion. With 5,000 square feet of space in an extravagant triplex layout, the Jewel Suite by Martin Katz embodies the upscale aura of the celebrity jeweler’s newest collection. Art Deco-inspired elements underline the bold early 20th century aesthetic of the suite against the Manhattan skyline – the ideal backdrop for Martin Katz’s Fashion Week collection debut.
