Tradition Gets a Tech-Savvy Update in Recently Renovated Areas

In addition to restoring our historic courtyard and updating The Towers’ exclusive experience, we are upgrading The Palace’s in-room technology as part of our $120 million renovation project.

The New York Palace’s renovations build on the comfortable, convenient technological touches in each room, such as high-speed wireless Internet and modern televisions with OnDemand movies. The Towers Debut Rooms and Suites – newly renovated spaces that blend the exclusivity and traditional sophistication of The Towers with modern design elements – provide guests’ their first chance to utilize our state-of-the-art new features.

One tangible way the technological updates will enhance the in-room experience is the addition of Crestron technology. Each Tower Debut Room and Suite comes equipped with a Crestron touch-screen user interface, which controls all of the room’s high-tech features, including the shades, flat-screen television, thermostats, and even the front door. Guests can sync their laptop or personal Netflix account with each 42-inch television to create an immersive in-room theater setting, utilize the iPod docking station, and raise or lower the lights at the touch of a button, thanks to ultra-responsive lighting technology by Bouyea & Associates. The Towers Debut Accommodations  state-of-the-art technology is elegantly illustrated in the modern themes, including sleek, clean design and forward-thinking mixed media artwork.

Many of The Palace’s technological developments lie beneath the surface. We took steps to streamline the efficiency of the renovated rooms, suites and event spaces, enhancing the hotel’s environmental sustainability. We collaborated with leading energy management integrator Mode:Green and hotel technology consultants Enterprise Solutions Providers, LLC, to craft accommodations as environmentally responsible as they are elegant. These green technologies, including LED lighting and intelligent thermostats, augment the hotel’s sustainability without affecting the overall guest experience. The Palace’s newly renovated NYC meeting rooms and event spaces operate on 100 percent renewable power, using New York City’s largest co-generation system to contribute to the heating, cooling and electricity in the spaces.
